This is going to make my neighbourhood (I live next to the SCS in Calgary) LESS safe.

All those who sought safety in the clinic will now be forced onto the streets to do drugs. Our healthcare system is already underfunded with people dying in emergency waiting rooms.

As per usual, this is an ill-considered, ideological decision made by those who want to punish people, and care little about their suffering.

I suspect I avoid quoting numbers and statistics when I'm speaking publicly because of some lingering math anxiety.

I had an absolute terror of a math teacher in grade 7 who told me I was just "bad at math."

No sir, I wasn't. I was a teenaged girl with a lot on my mind at the time. I did get better at math with help from other teachers later on in high school.

But I never forgot what you said, the underlying sexism, and it still creeps back when I'm nervous.

That being said, I worked on a successful project as an adult that 100% involved improved financial reporting and budgets for a pipeline company. It was totally not my usual thing.

And I loved it. Not a bit of anxiety, probably due to a supportive team environment.

Funny how that works.

Chief Sheldon Sunshine writes to Prime Minister Mark Carney about the draft cooperation agreement giving Alberta more responsibility for impact assessments.

In a “turnabout is fair play” move, he gives Carney until March 19 to respond.

The public (including First Nations) were given a deadline of March 27 to respond to the draft agreement.

In addition to Beacon’s in-house lobbyists, the company also hired Navigator to lobby the government regarding its data centre project. Navigator and two of its consultants representing Beacon contributed more than $3,600 to the party before September 2025.

In October 2025, Alberta’s government made an exemption to foreign land ownership regulations to allow the majority U.S.-owned Beacon to buy 8.8 square kilometres for the construction of five data centres."

LinkedIn refused to take down a racist comment against Indigenous people that was posted to one of my comments on another person's profile.

Now if that was my profile, I'd remove it immediately because that's what it means to be anti-racist.

I've requested the person whose profile the comment appears on to remove it...waiting to see what he does.

I'm not going to reproduce the comment, but suffice it to say that if you were to remove "Indigenous" and replace it with any other group or identity, I'm pretty sure LI would have acted immediately.

It's not okay that LinkedIn feels it is fine to make harmful/hateful remarks about some groups, while they act swiftly on behalf of other groups. It's mystifying to me.
